LeBron James, a.ka. King James is probably one of the greatest to ever step onto the court. He’s the first ever player in history to have won the NBA title with 3 different teams as Finals MVP. Additionally, he has been to 10 finals (with 8 of them back-to-back). As for his accolades, he has 4 NBA titles, 4 NBA MVP awards, 4 NBA Finals MVP awards, and two Olympic gold medals to his credit.

The sixth generation of the LeBron Witness lineup is primed for a global release sometime this year. Nike has prepared some familiar colorways to ease the transition into the newest model under LeBron’s collection. To those unfamiliar, the LeBron Witness line could be said as the “budget-friendly” sneaker from LeBron. Typically, they are much lighter and made from cheaper materials compared to the higher end models.

Features of LeBron Witness 6

Max Air Cushioning

Firstly, the Witness 6 ditches the visible forefoot Zoom Air cushioning unit found on the Witness 4s and 5s. Instead, it opts for the Max Air tech, a full-length unit revealed in two portions on the lateral and the heel on the medial. This feature helps to disperse the harsh impact forces while providing a bouncy, responsive experience. Furthermore, thanks to it running the entire length of the shoe, it is tailored to fit where your foot lands on court.

Reinforced Materials

The upper seems to be made of similar materials as the LeBron Witness 5, which is some form of a lightweight, adaptable fit provided by breathable mesh. In the heel area, you’d find two fins which provides lockdown, limiting slippage during multi directional quick movements on court. Thanks to reinforced stitching throughout the sides of the sneaker, you’d find that the sneaker won’t fit too loose, which is what you need on court.

Outstanding Traction

The long-lasting rubber outsole has a traditional herringbone traction pattern from front to rear. To assist save weight and allow for flex, the rubber is divided and partially cut out beneath the arch. Furthermore, the outsole has also been designed for use on rough outdoor courts. Meanwhile, the midsole is made of molded foam, which is lightweight and robust, and it helps to ease the transition from heel to toe.

Colorways of LeBron Witness 6

Based off official photographs from Nike, there are several colours that should see release soon. Familiar palettes such as “Lakers”, “South Beach” and “Ohio State” will be making its way into the Witness 6. Obvious nods to his current team and his home state of Ohio. Alongside them there will be a “tropical-inspired” motif which should pay tribute to the beaches of LA and West Coast. A fifth colorway in navy and white has also been verified, likely to match son Bronny's Sierra Canyon Blazers gear.

Performance of LeBron Witness 6

The newest model in LeBron’s sneaker line is a great looking shoe but isn’t necessarily the best performing shoe on court. Several reviews online have been contradicting, some users moaning about the non-existent traction while others commenting how it was excellent. One common area that was highlighted by reviewers was the lack of cushion. One even mentioned this issue led to minor foot pain.

As for the materials, they are solid and get the job done for its price point. However, there seems to be a lack of stability due to the shark fin heel counter. There are no outriggers, and the cushion isn't sturdy enough to give support underfoot. Overall, critics believe that the Nike LeBron Witness 6 is unsuitable for performance use. However, you have to remember that you are paying for an entry level shoe and it’s a case of you get what you paid for.
